About:
This class is a basic introduction for those new to burlesque or who haven’t performed before on how to move in expressive ways (for a variety of abilities/mobilities) and how to use movement and our bodies to express our feelings and thoughts.
This class would also be helpful for those navigating new limitations due to disability or injury.
About the instructor:
Paige Rustles (she/her) of Portland, Oregon is a queer, disabled femme performance artist and burlesque dancer dedicated to creating pieces that push the norms and challenge the mind. Dubbed “the social worker of burlesque,” Paige has donned glitter like battle armor for over a decade, taking to stage to use her body and words to bring joy and create change. She also teaches writing workshops and is a published poet and essayist. Paige believes strongly in the power of performance and the ferocity of femme!
